For packaging designers looking for a sustainable, biodegradable material, Texon Verde is the perfect choice. Green by name as well as nature, this brand new material contains up to 90% bio-based content and is ideally suited to the production of luxury packaging solutions as well as fashion and homeware accessories. Made from sustainably sourced (FSC®) cellulose wood pulp, plant-based binders and natural pigments, Texon Verde is the perfect choice for designers and brands looking to reduce the impact of their products on the planet.
Available from April 2022 onwards, Texon Verde combines Texon’s unrivalled technical know-how in cellulose-based textiles with its expertise in sustainability. The result is a material that is lightweight, easy to handle, tear resistant, wipeable – and optimised to offer significantly lower environmental impacts compared to conventional materials in its segment. Through collaboration with leading sustainable industry partners, Texon Verde also utilises a plant-based binder system, which is compostable.
Texon will also be promoting its long-standing Texon Vogue portfolio at Packaging Premiere. Texon Vogue is a washable, versatile, sustainable cellulose-based material that is widely used by brands to create packaging products as well as bags and accessories, jeans labels, book bindings, stationery, luggage tags and more. Available in a variety of colours and finishes, Texon Vogue is also suitable for most contemporary styles of printing.
Responsibly sourced and produced, and accredited by both the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC® C139589 and C133304) and Oeko-Tex, Texon Vogue is a durable, practical, washable material that is made from 100% cellulose fibre. Widely recognised as animal-friendly and a viable alternative to many leather-based products. Texon Vogue was recently verified by The Vegan Society.
From a production perspective, Texon Vogue gives excellent results after printing, processing and washing. It can withstand stonewashing, enzyme washing, and dry-cleaning – and will not shrink or stretch. It can be printed, laminated, coated or screen-printed to suit requirements and is available in a variety of colours.
At Packaging Premiere, Texon will also be promoting a variety of structural solutions from its T448 and T601 ranges, which can be used to add structure and shape to packaging products.
