Dom Pérignon, Bally, Pantone, Garnier, Kiko, and many other brands will take the stage to address highly relevant topics in the world of luxury, packaging, and design. From Korean cosmetics to sensory marketing, from AI to 3D printing, from sustainability to innovative materials.
Avant-Garde
In an era where design and sustainability are priorities, this project focuses on materials or products recognized for their innovation, which offer benefits in terms of societal or environmental use, and belong to one or more of the following categories: innovative materials, sustainability in the production chain and in the realization of the proposal, innovative design for aesthetics, design, and functionality for the brand and the consumer. Avant Garde provides an in-depth look at the most innovative solutions in the packaging industry, developed by exhibitors and design agencies, and evaluated by a panel of experts. The selected projects will be exhibited in a dedicated area, and the winners will be announced during an awards ceremony scheduled for May 23 in the conference hall.
Workshop
X-Rite Pantone, a global leader in color, will host a session delving into technical themes and fundamental aspects of color and its appearance in design and printing: from color perception to measurement, from the importance of light sources to colors and challenges in the packaging supply chain, from color digitization to practical tests. “Color Management from Design to Printing,” scheduled for May 22 from 10:00 to 13:00 within Packaging Première & PCD Milan (Gate 4, Pavilion 3), is an invitation-only event: only 20 companies will be able to attend the workshop, and at its conclusion, they will receive a certificate of participation in FOCA (Fundamentals of Color) and color management training. Design Hub
An unmissable opportunity to get up close with excellence in packaging design. Four of the top agencies specializing in wine and liquor packaging design (Advision, BasileADV, Officina Grafica, and O,nice! Design Studio) will showcase their projects, providing a valuable source of inspiration in terms of branding and packaging.
Projects and exhibitions
Packaging Première & PCD Milan aims to engage visitors through exclusive exhibitions, including GINnasium and Paper Posh.
GINnasium is a creative exercise applying neuromarketing for the first time, involving the end consumer. 5 designers, 5 regions – Lazio, Abruzzo, Campania, Puglia, Sicilia – 5 interpretations of gin packaging. Each designer has crafted two gin bottles inspired by their homeland, which will be exhibited in the conference area and presented in a dedicated talk on May 22, with the participation of Portofino Dry Gin, Sense Catch, UPM Raflatac, SoVeMec.
Paper Posh is an augmented imagination project crafted by artists Andrea Filippi & Gabriele Moschin: a selection of visionary and sophisticated shopping bags, created using Artificial Intelligence software, exploring decidedly original and unprecedented cardboard structures. Fourteen shopping bags displayed within Packaging Première represent a challenge for tomorrow’s design.
Materials library by Materially
Materially, an independent consulting company and reference point in Italy for researching innovative and sustainable materials for the manufacturing industry and design-driven applications, will set up a veritable materials library to guide visitors and exhibitors in discovering the most innovative materials for packaging.
