Born in Milan. While attending Università Statale di Milano, I approached the world of jewellery thanks to my brother, a goldsmith, with whom I founded a jewellery production company. I discover a passion for jewellery, for three-dimensional shapes, for gems. I design and make jewellery for some brands and for our own brand. I love to observe, I am very curious and living in Italy is in itself a huge source of inspiration. Architecture and nature are a source of inspiration for me. Modernity can also be the result of thinking that has understood and absorbed tradition. The aesthetic result that is achieved is also achieved through the skill and technical ingenuity of those who realise it. In 2005, I was contacted by Cartier to propose me to work with them, and in addition to using the traditional methods of bench goldsmithing, I began to use the 3D programme. This allows me to carefully plan each stage of the realisation, observe the components and avoid both errors and naivety. In jewellery, where everything is tiny, the precision of details is crucial. Errors cannot be overlooked and then smuggled in as ‘artistic licence’. Today, it is essential to use 3D. However, you have to have the craftsman inside, i.e. be a goldsmith. In 2018 HQ asked me to go and work in Paris and until 2020 I continue to design and develop the new Cartier collections. From 2020 I design and develop the new high jewellery collections for Pomellato.
