Countdown to the next edition of Packaging Première and PCD Milan, in the name of sustainability

An edition focused on sustainability: this is the key message of Packaging Première and PCD Milan, which will take place from 16 to 18 May in Milan in Hall 3 of Fieramilanocity.
“One month ahead of the next edition: we have worked hard to make this event even more innovative, creative and above all sustainable. From the set-ups to the attitude of exhibitors and visitors during the event, we have conceived simple but effective initiatives,” says Pier Paolo Ponchia, Founder and Director of Packaging Première.   Sustainability is really the key theme at Packaging Première and PCD Milan: visitors will be able to discover the latest innovations in packaging for fashion, jewellery, beauty, fine food, wine & spirits. The conference programme will also focus mainly on the green theme, presented by Italian, international top-brands and packaging experts; new names joined the impressive speaker list: Annalisa Betti, journalist and beauty editor; Jacques Heintz, Head of Supply Chain Worldwide La Perla Beauty; Claudio Stefani Giusti, Owner and CEO Acetaia Giusti; Antonio Civita, CEO Panino Giusto, Marco Marsico, Head of Sales & Marketing Pasticceria Martesana; Marco Piccolo Reynaldi, CEO Reynaldi and Matteo Mocchi, Innovation Design at Robilant Associati.
CONFERENZE PACKAGING PREMIèRE
Packaging Première and PCD Milan continues its mission: to anticipate trends and explore the most interesting content through special initiatives, such as the Avant Garde project.   “We launched the Avant Garde project to give voice to our exhibitors, inviting them to develop products or services that are remarkable in terms of innovation and sustainability, an essential element,” emphasises Pier Paolo Ponchia. “A jury made of international experts, academics and designers have selected the most interesting packaging projects, based on technological development, digitisation, design and effective brand value.”   The packaging products and services selected by the jury for the 2023 edition are: Advision in collaboration with UPM Raflatac and Luxoro, Arti Grafiche Paciotti, CO&IN, D’Auria, Fedrigoni Paper, Fedrigoni Self-Adhesive, Fontana Grafica, Furlanis, FVL, Gruppo Cordenons, Hazen, Idp, Inca, James Cropper, Overkart, Plastigraf Trevigiana, Robilant, Rotas, Stelmar, Tapì, The Good Idea, Valtenna.   The jury for the 2023 edition includes: Evelio MattosLaura Moretti, Laura ScafettaNicola PavesiPaolo Proserpio, Patrizia Carella, Stefano Torregrossa and Federica Brumen.   The projects selected by the jury will be officially presented within a customized exhibition space, where each project will be supported by a brief explanation. The set-ups will be green: thanks to the collaboration with Montecolino – a leading European company for the production of flooring, coverings and textile materials for industrial and residential use – the carpets used are collected at the end of the event and delivered to a logistics centre nearby the pavilions, pressed into bundles and disposed for plastic processing. Montecolino is committed to recovering 80 per cent of the carpet used: today it recycles 86 per cent, with the aim of reaching 100 per cent, for a total of 4 million square metres of recycled carpet.   Even signals and graphics usually produced in forex, a plastic material made of PVC, will gradually be replaced with sustainable corrugated cardboard graphics. In addition, all paper used for invitations and catalogues is FSC-certified.   To reduce the use of plastic bottles during the event, Packaging Première – in collaboration with P&P Promotion, Valtenna, Fontanagrafica, Carlo Gasperini and Oropress – has created limited edition water bottles, part of the Water Bottle project, customised with an illustration by Francesco Poroli. The water bottles can be purchased during the event and filled at the several free water dispensers inside dedicated Water Points placed around the pavilion and set up in collaboration with Corvasce.
