Chanel No. 5 L’Eau Drop has a new bottle inspired by the famous “drop of perfume” by Marilyn Monroe.

The actress famously wore only a drop of the iconic perfume to bed. The innovative collectible packaging is inspired by those sensual words.

In her April 1952 cover story for Time, the 26-year-old phenomenon Marilyn Monroe shared a beauty anecdote that is still quoted today: “Once a guy asked me, ‘Marilyn, what do you wear to bed?'” Her memorable reply was, “just a drop of Chanel No. 5,” and that drop became the enchanting thought of the world obsessed with the showgirl’s beauty. This was before the era of celebrities revealing their routines in Beauty Secrets videos, but the response was striking, and sales of No. 5 skyrocketed. In the 70 years following that publication, Monroe and Chanel have become intertwined. Today, the French fashion and beauty house takes it a step further by unveiling a new limited-edition bottle inspired by that very quote and the sentiments it evokes.
