The must-attend event dedicated to the future of packaging portrayed through design and innovation will take place from 13 to 15 May 2025.
While preparations for the 2025 edition of Packaging Première & PCD Milan are in full swing, with just a few months to go, the event promises to be packed with novelties, thanks to the outstanding quality of exhibitors, valuable content and event-related activities. Packaging Première & PCD Milan is preparing to welcome more than 300 exhibitors and expects more than 8300 visitors, breaking the numbers of the 2024 edition.
This edition will be guided by the artistic vision of Andrea Filippi and Gabriele Moschin, experts in the integration of Artificial Intelligence in their works, presenting the concept ‘From AI to AI, from Artificial Intelligence to Augmented Imagination’. The switch from Artificial Intelligence to Augmented Imagination constitutes a real paradigm shift, with particular impact in the luxury, packaging, design and fashion sectors. While AI has improved our ability to optimise and automate, Augmented Imagination introduces a dimension where advanced technology merges with creativity. At Packaging Première & PCD Milan 2025 nature, intelligence and the future come together. In packaging, depth is on the surface: nature is everywhere and recalls themes of sustainability, research and development of increasingly eco-friendly materials; intelligence is the driving force behind imagination.
Particularly noteworthy is the fourth edition of the Avant-Garde Award, which invites exhibitors as well as companies, design and branding agencies, material manufacturers, packaging suppliers, start-ups and designers to apply to take part in the selection of the most innovative projects of the year. The initiative aims to reward original ideas that can redefine the way packaging is conceived. The projects, judged by a panel of highly qualified experts can be submitted for one of the following categories: design, innovative materials and sustainability. Jury members include Andrea Basile of BasileAVD, Giuseppe Salerno of Resistenza Type Foundry, Davide Mosconi of Auge Design, Alejandra Rubio of GUESS Europe, Anna Pellizzari of Materially, Barbara Del Curto of Making Materials, Federica Brumen of Comieco, Roberto Della Rupe of Machina Lonati and Plus4.
Participants can apply for one or more innovative projects no later than 3 February 2025.
All selected projects will be displayed in a dedicated area at Avant-Garde, giving visitors the opportunity to appreciate the proposed innovations. In addition, a winner will be identified for each category, receiving a prize in the conference room and at the same time having the opportunity to present their work.
After the success of the previous editions, the Design Hub is also back. This is a space where visitors can meet agencies specialised in packaging design to foster a link between creativity and innovation, art and technique, style and sophistication, and stimulate the creation of partnerships and lasting relationships.
‘The edition scheduled for May 2025 promises to be an experience where innovation, design and sustainability come together to reshape the future of packaging. We look forward to welcoming all visitors and exploring together the new packaging and design frontiers. Our perspective increasingly oriented towards sustainability and excellence, thanks to the participation of the leading professionals and the most innovative companies, which contribute to turn Packaging Première & PCD Milan into a dynamic and inspiring context,’ says Lara Castagna, Head of Event Packaging Première & PCD Milan.
