Scatolificio Girola presents SELENE, the eco-friendly display, made of environmentally friendly, recycled and recyclable material
Scatolificio Girola continues to maintain a deep respect for the environment, integrating into a human-centered business model the production and use of renewable energy generated from its own photovoltaic system. The same approach is adopted in the design and industrialization of new products.
SELENE positions itself as an eco-friendly exhibitor made of a single material that is completely recyclable. It is made of a sustainable material like paper and utilizes simple and low-impact technologies. Layers of corrugated cardboard are stacked to recreate the volumes of a small-sized bust, ideal for displaying necklaces and jewelry. The alternation of solid and void spaces reduces the mass of the object, almost halving the amount of material used.
It can be shipped in a flat package and then be assembled on site without the use of adhesives, optimizing the transportation and end-of-life phases by being single-material and fully recyclable.
The project was developed in collaboration with the University of Camerino by designer Eleonora Angeletti during the Master’s program in Ecodesign and Eco-innovation.
Scatolificio Girola’s project has been selected by the jury for the Sustainability category and will be exhibited in the Avant-Garde dedicated area at Packaging Première & PCD Milan 2024.
